Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines that support advanced analytics and data science solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with data scientists to define data requirements, develop new solutions, and ensure data quality and integrity. This is a full-time, remote opportunity with a competitive salary of $28/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to support advanced analytics and data science solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists to define data requirements, develop new solutions, and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Create software that processes, stores, and serves data for use by others.
- Develop data architectures and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data that produces insights and addresses reporting needs.
- Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database systems, and create tools for real-time and offline analytical processing.
- Develop data pipelines that are scalable, repeatable, and secure.
- Investigate software and processes for data consistency and integrity.
- Coordinate data from various sources, ensuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.
- Troubleshoot issues and barriers as they arise.
- Communicate with internal and external peers, as well as managers, to exchange semi-complex information related to assigned activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).
- At least 2 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL.
- Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, clients, and vendors) stakeholders to ensure quality standards for services.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a technical discipline.
- Experience with REST API development.
- Experience with cloud application deployment, specifically on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with AWS technologies, such as AWS Data Factory, AWS Databricks using Python or Scala, Application Services, AWS Data Lake, AWS Capabilities, Event Centers, Event Meshes, and Logic Applications.
- Experience building AWS DevOps pipelines to enable CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
