As a Senior Manager, Capital Project Engineer - Food and Beverage, you will play a pivotal role in driving our vision forward by developing and supporting technical solutions for existing and new products/packages, processing and packaging equipment, and infrastructure.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Capital Project Engineer to lead our capital project engineering efforts in the food and beverage industry. As a remote role, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while collaborating with our global team. This position requires 51% to 75% travel, allowing you to engage with our company-owned and Co-Manufacturing sites, build capability and capacity across our network, and manage OEM supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including the installation of purchased equipment or facility improvements to complete capital expenditures.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams, fostering an environment that encourages feedback and learning from internal clients and external customers.
- Interact with and manage contractors and equipment manufacturers to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate resources to analyze and resolve production, utility, and building structural issues.
- Ensure projects align with local and corporate standards, providing direction, leadership, and coaching to project team members.
- Communicate project status to stakeholders, preparing technical presentations and updating documents to complete detailed design, product manufacturing, and commercial introduction plans.
- Stay current on plant and industry technical needs, supporting NAOU safety and quality objectives.
- Verify final design with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer/stakeholder specifications and business objectives.
- Complete project closeout, including documentation, transfer of project records, and document status of acceptance criteria.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field, such as mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
- 4 to 7 years of engineering experience within the food and beverage industry, with a strong background in plant equipment and beverage experience.
- Proven experience managing engineering capital projects, developing and implementing technical process and packaging equipment solutions.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
- Excellent oral and written English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- A strong sense of integrity, self-confidence, accountability, and collaboration.
- The ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition, understanding the complexities and interdependencies of information and events.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following skills and experience will be a plus:
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Automation Engineering, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Supply Chain principles.
- Familiarity with food processing, food production, and packaging supplies.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in timeline development and management.
