Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN Clinical Care Leader to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team, working nights and weekends. As a Clinical Care Leader, you will facilitate healthcare services for patients in cooperation with the healthcare team, providing individualized nursing care and collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients
  • Collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care
  • Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards
  • Coordinate the clinical/unit nursing activities while adhering to Sanford Health philosophy, goals, and standards of care
  • Assume a leadership role in high-risk situations, intervening when unsafe practices are identified, and making patient assignments based on employee competencies, scope of practice, experience, and patient needs
  • Facilitate communication and provision of information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact, serving as a mentor to staff and participating in house-wide and/or departmental committees

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred
  • A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience required, two years preferred
  • Demonstrated involvement in clinical process improvement initiatives preferred
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

  • Certification in a relevant specialty or service area
  • Experience in leadership or management roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
