Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic group exercise instructor to lead dynamic and challenging group fitness classes for our members. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, motivating, and able to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for participants. Job Requirements Frontline employees are not required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, BCNY strongly encourages all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and obtain a booster shot. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging and challenging group fitness classes for participants of varying skill levels. Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and form, providing guidance and modification as needed. Create and maintain a safe and positive exercise environment, ensuring participants are adhering to proper safety guidelines. Encourage and motivate participants throughout classes, providing feedback and support to help clients meet their fitness goals. Stay up to date on industry trends, new workout routines, and fitness methods in order to offer cutting-edge classes. Attend regular training sessions and workshops to improve and diversify teaching skills. Maintain professional and positive communication with members and staff. Assist with any additional tasks related to fitness programming as needed. Qualifications Nationally recognized certification in group exercise instruction (e.g. ACSM, ACE, AFAA) ? 1-2 years of experience instructing group fitness classes, with experience teaching different class formats (e.g. HIIT, Pilates, yoga, cycling, dance) ? Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and connect with participants. ? Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and exercise science principles, and the ability to create workouts to meet varying skill levels. ? Ability to lead high-energy classes while maintaining a safe environment. ? Must be CPR and AED certified. What We Offer Sick Time The Boys?
