In the role of Controller, you will be instrumental in transforming the financial landscapes of nonprofit organizations, ultimately aiding them in fulfilling their missions while cultivating enduring client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
 Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients, providing expert guidance and support.
 Prepare and deliver financial reports tailored for management, boards, and finance committees.
 Propose and execute enhancements in accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance protocols.
 Oversee transactional accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting.
 Manage monthly reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and ensure the accuracy of workpapers.
 Analyze financial data, develop visual reports, and assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
 Administer grant allocations, funder reporting, and audit preparations.
 Provide training and development opportunities for clients and internal staff.
Required Skills
 A profound passion for working with or supporting nonprofit organizations.
 Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various general ledger software, particularly QuickBooks.
 Familiarity with nonprofit accounting, public accounting, or consulting is advantageous, but not mandatory.
 Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are considered a plus.
Qualifications
 A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
 A minimum of 5-7 years of comprehensive accounting experience is essential.
 Proven ability to effectively manage multiple clients in a remote working environment is preferred.
 CPA certification is an asset.
