Chief Advancement Officer

The Trevor Project is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer to lead fundraising efforts and ensure the organization has the financial resources needed to serve LGBTQ+ young people. The role involves developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans, leading a team of 30+ staff, and overseeing marketing and content strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven success raising eight-figure fundraising revenue annually
  • Strong track record building teams, coaching for performance, and retaining talent
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective forward-thinking revenue-generation strategies and ensure timely delivery of revenue targets
  • A foundational understanding of creative workflows and core marketing functions
  • Ability to effectively select, train, coach and provide professional development opportunities for a team of 30+ fundraising and marketing/content leaders
  • Comprehensive experience in all aspects of national fundraising campaigns
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage financial and operational development data in partnership with finance team
  • Proven ability to drive large projects in a complex operational environment
  • Proven track record and accountability in making quick decisions that have an immediate impact on business financials
  • Track record of developing a culture of philanthropy across an organization
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and closely with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills with a proven ability to multitask and work well within tight timelines
  • Entrepreneurial, energetic, resilient and grounded leadership style that inspires and motivates a team
  • Strong skills and knowledge of technology stack - Salesforce, G-suite, Asana, Slack, etc.
