ARPA-H Clinical Monitoring and Diagnostic Innovations Technical Advisor

ECS is seeking a talented and driven ARPA-H Clinical Monitoring and Diagnostic Innovations Technical Advisor with a scientific and engineering technical background to join our team in support of ARPA-H. Under the leadership of a Program Manager, you will serve as a Systems, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA)—providing support and thought leadership for programs developing the Emergency Department diagnostic suite of the future.
In this role, you will perform the following SETA duties:
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team building the Emergency Department diagnostic suite of the future.
- Provide subject matter expertise across all aspects of the application and integration of a broad range of clinical analytical technologies and data analytics (e.g., wearables, imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, predictive tools, decision support, workflow optimization, behavior surveillance, etc.) to maximize throughput while minimizing cost and misdiagnoses in emergency care settings.
- Evaluate technical proposals for scientific merit and innovation. Provide feedback, organize reviewer comments, draft recommendations and project summaries, and presentation materials.
- Perform market analyses, technical due diligence, literature reviews and generate briefing documents summarizing technical topics related to application and integration of novel technologies for monitoring, screening and diagnostics across the full range of presenting health conditions common within the emergency medical services and hospital emergency departments.
- Develop technical and administrative programmatic documentation on short timelines to communicate technical approach, progress, cost, schedule and risk for advanced technology integration and demonstration efforts
Salary Range: $100,000-$180,000

Qualifications- Degree in in data science, systems engineering, data engineering, operations research, AI/ML, or business analytics.
- Degree and professional, full-time work experience should meet one of the following combinations: PhD + 2 years, MS+ 5 years, or BA + 7 years
- Familiarity with FDA regulated commercial technologies for screening and diagnostics across a broad range of acute and chronic diseases and conditions
- Familiarity with emerging developmental technologies across disparate fields that could be applied to U.S. domestic Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Department applications
- Experience conducting technology analysis of alternatives, assessments, and designing technology / system evaluation strategies and detailed plans to include data collection.
- Experience conducting system integration to include physical, data, manpower and workflow (concept of operation)
- Expertise in data science and AI/ML, ideally in healthcare settings
- Knowledge of interoperability requirements in healthcare systems including APIs and cloud platforms, clinical data standards such as SNOMED, LOINC and ICD-10, messaging and document standards such as HL7 and Clinical Document Architecture, data mapping, and privacy standards.
