Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Working Method: 100% Remote (with 1-2 business trips per year; expenses reimbursed separately)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team, with a focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python and SQL, and demonstrate a strong understanding of modern data engineering practices. You will work cross-functionally with other engineering and business teams to ensure a robust, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure that supports analytics and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure smooth data flow and integration

  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance issues to ensure reliability and uptime

  • Implement best practices in data quality, governance, and security

  • Continuously optimize ETL processes for performance and cost-efficiency

  • Contribute to infrastructure automation and provisioning using Terraform or similar tools

  • Manage orchestration tools such as Airflow for workflow scheduling and execution

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 47 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role

  • Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL knowledge

  • Experience with ETL/ELT development and pipeline optimization

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Experience working with BigQuery for scalable analytics

  • Knowledge of orchestration tools like Apache Airflow

  • Proficient in infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform

  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)

  • Self-starter attitude with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
