Job Title: HR Advisor
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (AEST) 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (AEST), 1 hour of unpaid break daily

Committed to continuous improvement and team excellence, we are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team. This role supports both the strategic and operational HR needs of the business across our stores and departments.
Role Overview:
As HR Advisor, you will partner with senior leaders and store managers to deliver expert HR support, advice, and compliance across the employee lifecycle. You will also take charge of screening senior applicants, managing the e-learning platform within UKG, and handling workers compensation. A thorough understanding of Australian employment law and experience with the GRIA (General Retail Industry Award) is essential.
Key Objectives of the Role:
Lead and manage senior role applicants through UKG and SEEK, ensuring all candidates are appropriately screened and interview-ready for the management team.
Offer timely HR advice and information to all levels of the organisation.
Ensure HR decisions and policies are fully compliant with applicable state and federal regulations.
Be a key advisor to all stores and support compliance with HR processes end-to-end.
Manage and create content for the company’s e-learning platform within UKG.
Take full ownership of Workers Compensation case management.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, implement, and continually improve HR policies and practices aligned with business goals.
Deliver accurate and timely HR reporting and information to support operations across all business levels.
Serve as the first point of contact for all HR inquiries through the “One Stop Shop” system.
Provide coaching and support to managers on employee development, performance management, and engagement strategies.
Offer expert guidance on employee relations, feedback, investigations, coaching, and grievance resolution.
Lead initiatives across HR programs including recruitment, retention, and Learning & Development.
Oversee the full end-to-end process of managing visas for international applicants and team members.
Administer and monitor Workers Compensation cases from claim lodgment to return-to-work coordination.
Prepare accurate and relevant documentation to support disciplinary actions, investigations, and grievance hearings.
Must-Have Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated experience working with the Australian General Retail Industry Award (GRIA).
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a generalist or advisory HR role.
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law and compliance standards.
Experience managing Workers Compensation cases.
Proficiency with HR systems, preferably UKG and recruitment platforms like SEEK.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and operational staff.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
Experience in the retail industry or with multi-site businesses.
Exposure to e-learning platform management and content development.
