Summary
The Business Development Representative is responsible for partnering with Gov’t Services leadership to develop and execute strategies to expand clientele and maximize revenue growth for the company. The Business Development Representative will actively network within the industry to cultivate lasting relationships, foster awareness and understanding of our service offerings, and generate a steady pipeline of potential business opportunities for YA Gov’t Services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partners with YA Gov’t Services leadership to design, develop, and execute business development strategies.
- Identifies, reviews, and tracks progress on all leads, opportunities, submissions, and coordinates implementation handoff with operations.
- Actively identifies and pursues new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, lead generating, networking, and other methods.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with client decision-makers and trusted teaming partners to drive business growth.
- Continuously builds upon knowledge of YA Gov’t Services division to better understand and provide expertise to potential clients.
- Conducts presentations internally and externally with clients in person, via webinar and by other methods, speaking to solutions and YA service offerings.
- Partners with YA Gov’t Services operations to ensure resources are properly allocated to meet all client contract deliverables.
- Collaborates with Program and Project Managers to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards for client satisfaction.
- Researches market trends and government funding to inform leadership of federal, state, and local opportunities, competitors, potential partners, and/or subcontractors/subconsultants.
- Represents YA Gov’t Services at various meetings, conferences, and events as approved by leadership.
- Serves in leadership roles within approved professional societies and associations relevant to the field.
- Serves as capture manager for proposal efforts by partnering with a diverse team of technical experts and marketing professionals to gather all applicable requirements, set deadlines and manage expectations and timelines accordingly.
- Composes and edits persuasive proposal content, showcasing technical expertise effectively, where applicable.
- Ensures submitted proposals are compliant with client submission guidelines, meet formatting requirements and deadlines.
- Analyzes and interprets data and metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ business development experience required, within emergency management/disaster recovery sectors.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and ability to collaborate across the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Research capabilities and experience working within a fast growing, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the RFI/RFP/RFQ process, federal, state, and local governmental contracts and regulations.
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems.
- Frequent travel required (up to 50%)
