The company's focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services.Job Description The North Wind Enterprise Application Services organization develops and maintains hundreds of custom and commercial-off-the-shelf software applications at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA. This is one of the largest environmental cleanup projects in the world, focused on river protection, habitat restoration, and environmental remediation. The enterprise is in the midst of a major modernization effort towards a more agile methodology. In this phase of the transformation, the organization must maintain current software development processes while implementing new, agile processes alongside them. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate and maintain software programs. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions. Responsibilities may include both the the production of new systems and web applications and support of legacy systems. The software engineer will provide development and support for a variety of custom applications, as well as integration of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products into the enterprise ecosystem. Support and development will include .NET, ColdFusion and other programming languages with back-end databases developed in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. The software engineer is responsible for designing, building, and implementing software. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: Develop and maintain software using .NET and other technologiesDesign databases and work closely with SQL and/or Oracle database administrators to implement them into production environmentsUnderstand and follow modern agile Software Development Lifecycle processes & procedures Work and follow best practices in a DevSecOps environment, in close collaboration with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity colleaguesWork closely with customers, project managers, and other developers to understand user needs and deliver elegant solutions Design and develop test casesAnalyze and monitor existing systems to provide recommendations for improvementTroubleshoot software production issuesAssist with providing estimatesAssist with gathering requirements from customersDevelop technical documentationProvide recommendations for continuous improvements This software engineer will be expected to work independently with general supervision, resolve problems and issues with a wide array of knowledge and use leadership abilities to influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field OR a combination of education and work experience plus 3-4 years of related experience in computer application development and/or COTS support.Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a multi-platform environment in application and database development with significant involvement in developing projects using .NET technology.Minimum of 1 year of experience with AzureDevOps and/or the Agile Framework.

Experience working on Project Controls/Financial applications and systemsExperience developing in Cold FusionExperience working in a DevSecOps environment· Experience developing applications using Git source control
