MRP Buyer / 1 Year Contract

PURPOSE: As the MRP Buyer, you will be responsible for executing purchase orders generated by the MRP system and ensuring the accuracy of planning signals that drive replenishment. A strong understanding of master data and planning parameters—such as lead times, order quantities, and safety stock—is critical to your success in this role. You will monitor MRP exceptions daily, follow up on supply issues, and validate that procurement activity aligns with system logic and real-world supplier performance. Working closely with the Demand Planning, Schedulers, and Inventory teams, you will identify and escalate discrepancies in system inputs, helping to refine planning parameters and ensure accurate, timely product availability. Your focus will be on executing purchases, maintaining data integrity, and supporting continuous improvement in planning and replenishment performance. This position reports to the Supply Planning Manager and plays a key role in delivering the “Right Product, Right Place, Right Time” commitment across our supply chain You Will: Execute MRP-Driven Procurement Review and act on MRP-generated purchase recommendations, ensuring on-time replenishment of components and finished goods Monitor MRP exception messages (e.g., reschedules, expedites, cancels) and escalate supply constraints as needed Own Planning Parameter Accuracy Maintain accurate planning parameters, such as lead times, lot sizes, and minimum order quantities Audit and update master data regularly to ensure alignment between planning assumptions and supplier performance Drive System Integrity Ensure ERP and APS systems reflect accurate supply planning logic Identify and resolve data inconsistencies that impact MRP reliability or result in missed signals Support Inventory and Service Goals Track inventory performance against targets, addressing excess, aging, or stockout risks proactively Conduct root cause analysis for service misses and recommend corrective actions, including expedited freight if necessary Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Customer Service, Distribution, Demand Planning, and Sourcing to resolve delivery issues and align supply decisions Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning workflows, data governance, and system usability Customer-Centric Decision Making Prioritize actions that improve service and deliver the “Right Product, Right Time” experience for customers Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment across the supply chain. We seek to attract and promote employees who demonstrate an ability and willingness to: You Have: Bachelor’s degree in the field of operations or supply chain or; bachelor’s degree in another field and APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) A certification in supply chain from APICS, certified in production and inventory management (CPIM or CSCP) preferred Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience Proficient with MRP and DRP Anaplan experience preferred Understanding of S&OP processes Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insights from quantitative and qualitative data Develop creative solutions to complex problems Clearly communicate results of analysis in verbal and written formats Ability to use PowerBI and Office software Watts in it for you: Please note that the following benefits apply only to permanent roles and do not apply to internship roles.
