About The Role

Teramind is looking for an

Engineering Manager to lead a Python development team as we ramp up our engineering efforts. As the company focuses on scaling its growth and product development, the Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering and CTO to manage a development team of 5 Engineers. There is a clear plan to expand the team to 8-10 Engineers, and this involves taking ownership of the recruitment/interviewing and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities


• Manage organizational structure and workload, project resourcing & coordination in a fast-paced, highly distributed environment


• Work with and manage one team of engineers. Have ownership of an efficient timely delivery coming from the team


• Build top-performing engineering teams — hiring, onboarding, handling motivation and individual performance


• Own functional and technical solution of product development initiatives and support related initiatives from definition to delivery in production


• Support engineers reporting to you through coaching, mentoring, and creating opportunities for them to grow


• Guide the teams in continuous improvement, team dynamics, successful execution, and technical excellenceProvide technical supervision for all facets of software engineering and operational excellence


• Participate in deep technical discussions about design, architecture, and solution review


Requirements


• Experience leading high-performance distributed engineering teams


• Initiative in driving activities and improving our organization, ability to propose changes that will positively impact the development process.


• Strong Python, BI and ETL related technical background, with the ability to interact with developers and understand how changes in one software component might affect other components


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate in a clear, collaborative, open-minded and effective manner with both technical and non-technical peers.


• Excellent social skills. You connect with various individuals and groups to resolve any impediment


• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.


• Strong leadership skills, in regards to establishing trust, transparency, direction and goals. You are able to coach and mentor engineers to improve their potential.


• Sharing knowledge is something that you do and encourage


• Excellent English skills
