The RoleWe’re hiring our founding Account Executive (AE) to help drive Metal’s revenue growth and close new business. As our founding AE, you’ll own the sales cycle from first meeting to signed contract — working closely with the CEO to refine our pitch, improve our sales process, and build the foundation for a repeatable, scalable sales motion.
This is a rare opportunity for a proven closer to join a fast-growing AI startup and play a key role in shaping the go-to-market strategy. You’ll sell directly to senior stakeholders at private equity firms, delivering a high-impact product that’s already resonating deeply with our market.
You’ll also collaborate closely with the product team to channel feedback, inform roadmap priorities, and help Metal become the indispensable operating system for private equity.
What You’ll DoOwn the Full Sales Cycle: Run discovery calls, product demos, pricing discussions, proof-of-concepts, and close deals end-to-end
Generate Pipeline: Work inbound leads while also building pipeline through outbound prospecting and creative channels
Navigate Complex Deals: Partner with prospects to handle evaluation plans, security reviews, legal redlines, and procurement processes
Work Directly with our CEO: Shape our sales strategy, define ideal customer profiles, and refine our go-to-market approach
Collaborate with Product and Engineering: Partner with our technical team to provide structured, strategic feedback from the field to help shape our roadmap and positioning
Refine Our Sales Playbook: Track pipeline activity, update CRM, build forecasts, and help codify our most effective sales motions
Develop AI Skillset: Daily exposure to the latest capabilities of AI for private markets and leveraging the technology internally to support your objectives
4+ years of experience in a closing role with relevant experience selling to private market investors. Experience working with directly with private equity is a huge plus
Experience owning complex deals end-to-end, working with executive stakeholders and sophisticated buyers
Enjoys working in an early-stage environment where high agency and ownership will lead to your success
Strong sales processes – you know how to prioritize, forecast, and manage your pipeline
Based in NYC or open to relocating — we believe in the energy of building in person
We're a startup that believes in hiring great people with competitive compensation. For this role, you can expect:
Salary range (OTE): $150,000 – $250,000 USD, depending on experience
