The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer in Canada to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems while providing technical leadership across multiple teams

What you will do:
Design and implement scalable, reliable distributed systems using modern cloud-native technologies
Lead technical architecture decisions and drive engineering excellence across teams
Mentor and guide other engineers, promoting best practices and engineering standards
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical strategy
Contribute to system design, code reviews, and technical documentation
What we’re looking for:
10+ years of professional software development experience
Strong expertise in backend development using Go and Python
Extensive experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
Proven experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and message queuing systems
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong system design and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Experience with application security and secure coding practices
Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and tools
Frontend development experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
Contributions to open-source projects
Technical skills you'll need:
Backend Languages: Go, Python
Frontend Technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, React
Core Technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Message Queues
Architecture: Microservices, Event-driven Systems
Infrastructure: Cloud Platforms, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code

Salary Range: 220 - 260 CAD + equity. Exact compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
