CAPS Clinical Service provides programs designed to increase awareness and educate students about important issues related to life skills, adjustment, and college life. It also works closely with offices within Student Affairs and other University offices.brbrstrongCAPS is seeking Mental Health Peer Educators who will provide outreach and support services to students, student organizations, classrooms, and departments of the campus community for the 2025-2026 academic year./strongbrbrHOPE@CAPS Mental Health Peer Educators (MHPE) provide KU-Lawrence students with support, referrals to CAPS and/or other campus resources, drop in peer listening, outreach and programming, including presentations to campus organizations, and will assist with developing marketing for CAPS (i.e., social media, posters, paper and digital materials). MHPE are expected to work an average of 6 to 10 hours per week each semester with required training/orientation time prior to the start of Fall semester. Regular weekly meetings also are required as are occasional evening and weekend times. MHPE are trained in listening skills, program presentation, the NASPA Certified Peer Educator training, risk assessment and suicide prevention, and other relevant topics by CAPS licensed staff and other invited professionals throughout the academic year. strongThe position requires 6 to 10 hours per week including weekly supervision and monthly trainings and will offer an hourly salary of $12. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025 and will require a week-long 40 hour training prior to the start of the Fall Semester.
