Job Summary

The role reports directly to the CFO and works closely with Legal, IR, Global Controller’s Organization, FP&A, and other functions in and outside of the Company to plan, coordinate, and prepare the Company’s Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including quarterly and annual financial statements. In addition, this role will be responsible for selective technical accounting matters including research and technical accounting documentation related to current and emerging accounting issues, equity accounting and other items as required. This person will interact with the Company’s auditors with respect to all aspects of financial reporting, and is required to understand the business objectives, key operation cycles as well as proactively create analysis and tools to identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvement and drive decisions and actions.

    Job Responsibilities
  • Play key role in the establishment and ongoing execution of SEC Reporting function.
  • Implement changes to policies, procedures, and systems to increase the integrity of our Financial Statements, including the ability to produce Quarterly and Annual SEC filings in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and applicable disclosure notes, together with supporting schedules and disclosure checklists.
  • Own the quarterly reporting calendar. Individual will participate in disclosure committee meetings, drive the accumulation, evaluation and incorporation of feedback from all internal and external parties into the respective SEC filings.
  • Ensure the filings are properly formatted and accurate and perform XBRL tagging procedures.
  • Work with external auditors to provide required support for all SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, etc).
  • Participate in earnings release process including preparation of the quarterly management reporting package, preparation and analysis of support for investor relations as required, and review of financial information included in the earnings release and script.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis for the executive team.
  • Enhance and develop reporting tools to assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Play a key role in driving Company-wide compliance of SOX 404; including the documentation of end-to-end processes, formal implementation of internal controls, and the creation of corporate governance over internal controls.
  • Technical research and completion of whitepapers for technical accounting matters, including equity, debt, new accounting pronouncements, and non-routine items.
  • Ownership of the equity accounting, including coordination with the transfer agent, stock administrator, Global Controller, General Counsel and CFO to ensure all equity activity (stock issuances, equity grants, warrant issuances, equity modifications, etc.) is appropriately accounting for, researched and documented, and reconciled to the TB on a monthly basis.
  • Identify and incorporate key SOX 404 control and ensure compliance specific to equity and other non-routine business transactions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Our successful candidate will be intellectually curious and highly motivated, with an ability to effectively collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities at a time, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent, is required.
  • Active CPA is required.
  • 10 + years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in an SEC reporting role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC filing requirements, and experience in the application of SOX 404.
  • Manage with external advisors, the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of SOX internal controls, coordinating with relevant stake.
  • Experience with Active Disclosure or other SEC reporting solution preferred.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, face and overcome challenges and be comfortable managing through organization and process change.
  • Demonstrated strength in technical aspects of accounting, from preparation of financial statements / drafting of footnote disclosures to analytical review.
  • A hands-on and can-do approach with a desire to continue learning and developing.

Salary Range - $180,000 to $220,000
