As we expand nationally, we’re looking for a dynamic Director of Business Development to lead our growth into new charter-heavy markets.
The Role
We’re seeking a high-performing Director of Business Development to spearhead our national expansion strategy. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, especially in states with a high density of charter schools, and for driving revenue growth through long-term client relationships.
What You'll Do
· Identify and target charter-rich regions to expand the client base
· Develop go-to-market strategies for 3–5 new states per year
· Build and manage a strong pipeline of charter schools, CMOs, and authorizers
· Lead outbound efforts, including attending education conferences and networking events
· Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations
· Report regularly on pipeline metrics, KPIs, and forecasts using CRM tools
· Collaborate with leadership to shape offerings for new markets
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
· 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships
· Proven success in the K–12 or charter school space preferred
· Strong network within charter management organizations (CMOs) a plus
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
· Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
· Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $140,000 – $165,000 (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: 10%–15% of annualized revenue from new clients, paid quarterly
Benefits: Health, dental, 401(k), PTO, travel reimbursement
Equity/Profit Sharing: Available after year 1, based on performance
Example Bonus: If you bring in $1,000,000 in new annual contracts, you can earn $100,000–$150,000 in bonuses alone.
