Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of sales objectives and targets for all assigned territories as well as providing support and guidance for assigned business development professionals. The manager will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and driving the processes required for the continual improvement in the effectiveness of the organizations business development programs.
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and lead regional business development specialists
- Accountable for meeting growth targets within their region and that of their team
- Create strategic plan for their team to source leads and prospect new business
- Provides regular executive level updates to business leaders on progress and opportunities
- Assist team to create effective outreach plan
- Track productivity and generate sales reports
- Establish working relationships and collaborate with providers' office staff in executing contracts and adhering to benchmarks set forth in all value-based programs
- Able to evaluate the viability of targets, alliances, or novel partnerships, to support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Develop industry-wide relationships to create sourcing opportunities, inform company strategy, and stay abreast of competitive landscape.
- Create and manage a deal pipeline, including outreach to and sourcing of new opportunities. These responsibilities include support negotiating with targets, and cross-functional project management of a transaction from initial outreach to due diligence.
- Work together with providers and office staff to ensure compliance with Cano Health's requirements and expectations
- Perform site visits to conduct outreach, education, training and orientation sessions for providers and key administrative staff
- Identify value-based provider offices and vendors to be contracted by health plan.
- Monitor practice performance to ensure compliance with all contractual agreements, identify any barriers and make recommendations for corrective action plans and other interventions as required
- Mandatory attendance at requisite meetings, seminars and physician networking events which occur outside of regular business hours
- Identify "trends" in physician activity rather than react to occurrence
- Work with leadership to evaluate opportunities for specific markets and support the growth strategy

- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervising a team of business development specialists.
- Critical Results
- Utilizes the company CRM effectively and consistently to track, manage and close out all activity
- Successfully close three or more provider groups for participation in assigned programs per quarter
- Demonstrates continual expertise and mastery of contract specific nuances and healthcare related information required to effectively and efficiently execute sales

- Manage time in an orderly and consistent manner
- Produces task plans for accomplishing all significant work assignments
- Uses company provided productivity tools actively
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare sales preferred
- 3+ years of experience in sales or customer relations required
- Excellent written/oral skills-Possess interpersonal/listening skills to interact effectively with individuals of all backgrounds, experience and educational levels
- Strong quantitative organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to manipulate large databases and to produce meaningful analytical and management reports
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to perform complex problem solving
- Ability to work effectively with physicians

Physical Requirements
This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
