Tax Representative

    Duties and responsibilities
  • Review account transaction history, notes history, vendor systems, websites, and/or make outbound calls to request and clarify property tax information.
  • Contact various tax collectors and/or attorneys to obtain timely and reliable billing and/or payment status information.
  • Determine, based on acceptable criteria, if a bill should be paid. If a bill should be paid, submit a check request, notify the vendor, or approve the advance via vendor reporting.
  • Respond to internal and external requests/emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review and process reports as assigned (via Excel or vendor systems).
  • Note all activity onto corresponding accounts in ReverseServ system.

Qualifications

    Education
  • High school/Bachelors or equivalent required.
    Experience/Training
  • Six months previous clerical experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and/or emails.
  • Detail oriented and problem solver.
  • A willful desire to understand the “bigger picture” – wants to learn MORE.
  • Real estate tax and/or insurance experience (preferred but not required).
  • Reverse mortgage experience/knowledge (preferred but not required).

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a professional office environment with no unusual hazards. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
