Job Title: Assistant to the Finance Director
Location: Hybrid (On-site training required; hybrid work available afterward)
Job Type: Part-time (20 hours/week)
Salary: $32,000 - $40,000 annually depending upon experience (for 20 hours/week)

Summary:

We are seeking a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Assistant to the Finance Director to support daily finance-related tasks and administrative responsibilities. This part-time role is ideal for someone familiar with basic accounting principles and comfortable using software and spreadsheets. After initial training, a flexible hybrid schedule is available.     Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain financial files and documentation
  • Prepare and edit grant and donation acknowledgment letters using Microsoft Word
  • Match grant checks to appropriate letters; prepare for mailing (stuffing, labeling, postage)
  • Assist in updating Excel spreadsheets (basic skills: copy/paste, sorting, tab management)
  • Prepare and send quarterly fund statements to donors (print, stuff, mail)
  • Enter data into Community Suites software (A/P vouchers, donation entries – training provided)
  • Serve as a backup to the Finance Director as needed
    Skills and Qualifications
  • Comfortable with accounting terminology and principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (basic/intermediate level)
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software (training provided for Community Suites)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Professional communication and collaboration skills
    Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in nonprofit, finance, or administrative support roles is a plus
  • Familiarity with donation and grant tracking is helpful but not required
