ASIC Design for Test (DFT) Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a highly experienced ASIC Design for Test (DFT) Engineer to join a fast-paced, collaborative team supporting advanced aerospace and defense technology. This remote contract role focuses on ASIC development with an emphasis on DFT implementation throughout the product lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with engineers across disciplines, working to ensure efficient testability and robust design using cutting-edge methodologies and tools.

    Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant DFT and ASIC design experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to program access
  • Proven experience across full ASIC design lifecycle
  • Expertise with Cadence and/or Mentor DFT and ATPG tools
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Hierarchical scan testing, test compression
  • JTAG IEEE-1149.1 / 1149.6 (AC JTAG)
  • IEEE-1500 / 1687 standards
  • Logic BIST / Memory BIST
  • Skilled in generating ATPG test patterns and analyzing test results
  • Experience collaborating with test engineers on vector implementation
  • Proficiency in HDL (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
  • Scripting experience with Tcl, Python, or Perl
  • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence Modus DFT tools
  • Familiarity with synthesis, place & route (P&R), and static timing analysis
