Position Overview:

Blazer Jobs is seeking a part-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to serve students across schools in the Corpus Christi, TX area for the 2025–2026 school year. In this rewarding role, you’ll work with visually impaired students to help them gain independence, navigate their environments safely, and access educational settings successfully.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
  • Teach safe, independent travel techniques using tools such as white canes or electronic travel aids
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education teams to support student IEP goals
  • Provide training and resources to school staff and parents
  • Travel between school sites as needed (mileage reimbursement may apply)
    Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Orientation & Mobility or related field
  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential required
  • Valid Texas licensure or certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working in a K–12 school setting is preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
