Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2025-07-03 Job Description Summary The Miami University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics proudly supports the athletic, academic, and personal development of over 500 Division-I student-athletes competing in 19 sports. The Director of Champions 4 Life Leadership Academy will provide NCAA, MAC, MVC, NCHC and University-sponsored life skills programming to enhance the student-athlete experience and provide the tools for student-athletes to succeed during and after their tenure at Miami. The Director of the Champions 4 Life Leadership Academy will be a practitioner that develops, teaches, facilitates and administers the department's comprehensive student-athlete leadership and development program. The position reports to the Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator, working with department administration, coaches and university partners in creating, overseeing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive leadership programming and development initiatives surrounding the student-athlete experience. Job Description Job Duties: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the planning, implementation, management, and operation of the Champions 4 Life Leadership Academy Create and execute a sequential, immersive voluntary learning experience for student-athletes which is specifically designed for the development of current elite and emerging leaders. Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the Oxford community and beyond to create leadership opportunities and connections. Oversee initiatives and programming designed to enhance the whole student-athlete experience Research and implement programming that supports student-athlete welfare, life skills, and personal development, collaborating with other departments across campus. Design a program that offers a broad approach to meeting the transitional needs of students entering the University and successfully transitioning into life after college. Perform management functions related to leadership and student-athlete programming Assist in coordinating guest speakers and special events associated with leadership and student welfare programming. Assist in initiatives with staff members from the Miami Alumni Fund/University Advancement, Alumni Relations, and Career Services offices to develop programs and resources to enhance athletics leadership, student-athlete initiatives, career mentoring. Suggest and coordinate leadership programming Collaborate with department leaders to develop and implement leadership and educational programs for all student-athletes Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and public speaking skills Must have proven ability to lead and guide students Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population and a wide range of constituencies Must have the ability to work with new technology to enhance job performance and engagement Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in educational leadership area Master's Degree Experience in creating and implementing educational sessions and learning programs for college student audiences.
