About the job

Why MentorcliQ

MentorcliQ is the #1 rated mentoring software leading an emerging category in work tech that powers global organizations to build inclusive cultures and deliver unmatched employee engagement, development, and retention through our mentoring technology. MentorcliQ has won numerous awards and recognitions from Association of Talent Development (ATD), Brandon Hall, and The Stevie Awards, among others, for our best-in-class technology, expertise in coaching and mentoring, and customer support.

We are a B2B SaaS company specializing in employee engagement, development, and retention. We help organizations foster mentorship and connection through formal employee development programs and Employee Networks (like ERGs) that provide learning and career growth at scale. As our Customer & Competitive Insights Lead you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping product direction, sales enablement, and market positioning by bridging the gap between what our customers need and how we differentiate in the HR Tech landscape. You’ll own the development of a formal intelligence function that gathers insights from both market research and customer feedback. Your work will help our teams make smarter, faster, and more customer-aligned decisions.

What You’ll Do

Analyze the Market & Competitive Landscape
  • Conduct deep research into competitor offerings, public roadmaps, documentation, customer reviews, analyst reports, and news updates to develop an evolving competitive intelligence library.
  • Track trends in the HR tech space. With a focus on mentoring, employee engagement, ERG management, and adjacent industries, translating them into implications for our strategy.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to surface competitive pressures, competitive traps, and develop effective counterplays.
  • Identify differentiation opportunities that improve win rates and influence roadmap decisions, pricing, and positioning.
Engage with Customers & Internal Teams
  • Build structured programs to collect feedback from customer sponsors and end-users, supplementing the already strong feedback loop from admins and CS-managed accounts.
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and discovery sessions with enterprise buyers and participants to gather actionable insights.
  • Participate in and review customer calls and sales opportunities to hear direct customer and prospect feedback.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering to ensure customer insights inform roadmap decisions and feature prioritization.
    Partner Across Go-To-Market Teams
  • Partner with Product Marketing to translate intelligence into sales enablement materials, battlecards, objection-handling guides, and strategic messaging.
  • Help Customer Success understand what “value” looks like to various personas and provide insights and stories to allow CS to better support customers through best practices.
    Who You Are
  • You bring 3–5 years of experience in product marketing, customer research, competitive intelligence, or a similar strategy-focused role within B2B SaaS, ideally within HR Tech.
  • You’re naturally curious and resourceful, able to dig through public data, analyze patterns, and connect dots others miss.
  • You’re a strong communicator—comfortable presenting insights to Sales, Product, and Executive teams—and you know how to simplify complexity into action.
  • You thrive in cross-functional environments and enjoy working at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • You have a bias for action and are excited to build a program from scratch, not just operate one that already exists.

What’s In It for You?

  • Base Compensation: $80 - 120k
  • Company bonus opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • 12 paid company holidays, generous vacation time, and sick/mental health days
  • 8 weeks of paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Short-term and long-term disability
  • Life insurance
  • Employee charitable donation matching
  • Innovative, inclusive, and inspiring people
  • A global team with the flexibility to work remotely
  • Beautiful home office in downtown Columbus
