OVERVIEW

Streamline Defense is seeking an exceptionally qualified candidate to serve as a Strategic Planner/Analyst in support of Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH).
RESPONSIBILITIES

    Perform research, analyses, assessments, and planning of all aspects of the SOF approach to conventional and irregular warfare (IW) environments, enhancing the ability of SOCSOUTH to devise and execute a unique approach to shaping its operational environment. Associated analyses, plans, and assessments shall result in recommendations for improving existing SOCSOUTH coordination mechanisms with its joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational partners. Assess SOCSOUTH and partner nation (PN) efforts to achieve force posture and capability that will enable the command and its priority PN units to remain trained, responsive, relevant, alert for opportunities, and ready to confront threats.
  • Conduct in-depth research and socio-cultural analysis for SOCSOUTH to develop recommendations in support of: theater strategy; campaign planning; contingency planning; theater posture; force allocation and deployment priorities; political-military prioritization and IW/UW planning subordinate to the USSOUTHCOM Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), USSOCOM strategic plans and operational requirements.
  • Develop country and regional campaign plans that describe how SOCSOUTH attains the vision tailored to those individual countries and regions. In support of Theater Strategy, develop and make requirements recommendations for SOCSOUTH to strategically posture USSOF in the USSOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Conduct contingency planning and development to provide courses of action (COAs) and analysis required for deliberate planning, and crisis action planning supporting contingencies and operations in the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
  • Perform directed operational and strategic analysis of specific issues of concern related to the framing of complex problem sets within the USSOUTHCOM AOR, including: countering terrorism; extremist support; radical messaging; countering transnational criminal organizations; information operations (IO); and countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) and other emerging threats and command designated priorities.
  • Conduct strategic and operational assessments of Building Partner Capacity (BPC) programs to provide status updates of achieving TCP objectives and effects. Develop, implement, execute, and maintain a quantitative and qualitative assessment framework supporting the Commander's decision support cycle linking the assessment of TCP objectives and effects with resource prioritization.
  • Conduct strategic and operational assessments of Building Partner Capacity (BPC) programs to provide status updates of achieving TCP objectives and effects. Develop, implement, execute, and maintain a quantitative and qualitative assessment framework supporting the Commander's decision support cycle linking the assessment of TCP objectives and effects with resource prioritization.
  • Conduct research and political-military analysis, mission and process improvement analysis, and policy support analysis to provide a strategic and operational view of the USSOUTHCOM theater for SOCSOUTH's current, planned, and emerging mission priorities and focused requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to make recommendations on theater posture, policy matters, and political military agreements including status of forces and other matters affecting the deployment of SOF in the USSOUTHCOM Theater.
  • Perform research and analysis on the design and development of joint strategic engagements and initiatives, capabilities, and training programs and exercises. Assess strategic initiatives, OPLAN, and TCP viability to identify shortfalls and make recommendations to train headquarters staffs, components, and subordinate organizations for theater OPLAN execution, mission readiness, and threat preparedness.
    REQUIREMENTS
  • Current TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • MA/MS Degree with a minimum of 20 years combined professional and military experience, with 10 years of AOR experience, and 3 years of SOF experience.
  • Military Education: Graduate of Senior Service College or equivalent.
  • Foreign Language: Spanish or Portuguese DLPT 2/2 or equivalent.
  • Experience in planning, policy, security cooperation and U.S. Embassy Country teams.
