New Patient Contact Specialist (Part-Time, Remote - Monday & Tuesday, with PRN Opportunities)
Join our team at US Foot & Ankle Specialists (USFAS) as a New Patient Contact Specialist, providing essential administrative and customer service support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role focuses on managing new patient communications, scheduling, and patient education across multiple offices in our northern region. Ideal candidates will have medical or patient care experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple calls in a remote setting.
- Position Details:
- Schedule: Part-time, primarily Mondays and Tuesdays with potential PRN (as-needed) hours the rest of the week
- Training: Full-time (4-5 days) during the first 3 weeks of training, primarily Mon & Tue
- Work Location: Remote – must have stable internet connection to handle high call volumes
- Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Answer inbound new patient calls for multiple USFAS offices
- Schedule new patient appointments following office templates and provider availability
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information at the time of scheduling
- Activate and educate patients on using the patient portal
- Communicate key office information: location, arrival instructions, portal use, etc.
- Serve as liaison between new patients and office staff/doctors
- Transfer calls for billing, medical records, or clinical inquiries as appropriate
- Run reports to monitor and ensure scheduling accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service reflecting USFAS core values
- Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience, preferably in a medical or patient care environment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
- Contact Center experience is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a stable internet connection capable of handling multiple calls
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
