Do you have experience with purchasing or contract writing? Do you have experience determining applicable procurement and contracting requirements? If so, we encourage you to apply for this position, where you will work collaboratively with other state agencies, local governments, and private sector businesses to ensure that contracts and procurement actions comply with law, policies, and procedures, and best practices in state government. This is a hybrid position that may have the ability to work from home, with the expectation of twice monthly in-office days and occasional in-office presence as needed to support business operations. What you will do: Review purchase and contract requests and work with Agency staff to clarify contract requirements for grants, loans, and goods or services. Process small procurements, small contracts, and amendments using established guidelines and templates. Identify state price agreements that fit program needs and process purchase orders. Interpret procurement and contracting rules and Business Oregon policies and advise agency staff on correct procurement methods and processes. Maintain contract records and required documentation of contracts and procurement transactions. Update and monitor databases that track contracts and agreements. Monitor group email inbox. Respond to questions and enter contract requests into Business Oregon’s contract status system. Maintain filing and tracking systems to ensure procurement and contract files are complete and accurate. Run and create reports on Business Oregon procurement and contracts as requested. Enter procurement information into Business Oregon’s contract status system database and into Oregon’s statewide e-Procurement & Contracts system database (OregonBuys). The ideal candidate will possess a combination of some or all the following skills: Experience managing and prioritizing one’s time efficiently, with the ability to shift seamlessly between a variety of tasks throughout the workday. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to effectively communicate rules and information to a variety of audiences. Experience with Oregon’s statewide e-procurement & contracts system database (OregonBuys). Experience with and knowledge of public procurement code. Experience working with purchasing, contracts, agreements, grants, or loans. Strong computer skills including Word processing, Excel, contract databases, and reporting software. What you need to qualify: Three years’ paraprofessional or technical-level experience in a related field such as general business, accounting, contracts, purchasing, or project administration support. OR A bachelor’s degree will substitute for the experience. A one-year certificate in supply chain, logistics management, procurement, or a related field will substitute for one year of experience.
