About the Position

The Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for leading, driving, and supporting corporate-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing team member safety, quality, efficiency, employee satisfaction, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The Operational Excellence Specialist leads in the implementation, maintenance, improvement, and assessment of the Kenco Operating System. This role requires a proven leader who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully plan and execute continuous improvement events and projects.

Functions

  • Utilizes Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and variation within the operation.

  • Partners closely with site leadership to enable sites to achieve Kenco O/S maturity targets.

  • Tracks value (VCI) created by Continuous Improvement.

  • Aligns the organization around Lean principles and drives the establishment of Lean systems in all areas through use of Hoshin planning activities.

  • Provide Operational Excellence training and support to implement Kenco’s Minimum Requirements at startup locations.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to streamline operations by understanding basic concepts of process design to clearly define responsibilities, connections, inputs/outputs, and how to perform the process.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on Kenco O/S and Lean Six Sigma process improvement tools and techniques to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Establish and disseminate best practices across the organization, standardizing processes where possible and ensuring adherence to operational excellence principles.

  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and our continuous improvement culture.

  • Collaborate with department heads, managers, and senior executives to ensure alignment of operational excellence initiatives with strategic objectives.

  • Train and guide teams in the application of Lean tools and methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field required or equivalent years of experience required. Equivalent years of experience is defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, engineering or related required.

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences clearly and concisely.

  • Proficient in guiding teams and individuals toward achieving operational excellence.

  • Skilled at leading workshops, Kaizen events, and group discussions to achieve consensus and results.

  • Strong relationship-building abilities to foster collaboration across all levels of the organization.

  • Expertise in delivering messages that encourage adoption of new systems and practices.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Travel Requirements

  • This position is expected to travel approximately 75% >or greater.

Salary Target: $110,000.00 Yearly salary plus yearly bonus incentive based on performance
