Employment Type: 10 Hours per week

Duration: October 13- December 31, 2024 & March 1 - May 1, 2025

Job Summary:

The Program Facilitator is responsible for delivering the virtual exchange program's content to university students from four regions. This role involves leading workshops, guiding discussions, supporting student collaboration, and fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery:
• Facilitate virtual workshops on Discord, discussions, and activities in alignment with the program curriculum.
• Provide clear instructions and guidance to students on assignments and projects.
• Monitor students' progress in attendance, assignments, engagement, and the final project.

Student Engagement:
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage active participation, collaboration, and communication among students.
• Provide individualized support to students, addressing their questions and concerns.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Coordinate with Lead-Facilitators and fellow Facilitators to ensure consistency in program delivery.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to program planning and improvement.
• Communicate any challenges or successes to the Program supervisor promptly.

Evaluation and Feedback:
• Monitor student progress and participation and collect attendance.
• Collect feedback from students on their learning experience.
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the program by making sure all participants are taking assessment surveys.
• Technical Support:
• Assist in organizing and managing online resources and materials for students.
• Ensure all sessions are scheduled and shared with participants.
• Handle any technical issues that arise during virtual sessions.
• Moderate Discord Channels and bots related to the program.

Qualifications Key Competencies:
• Degree in Education, STEAM fields, or a related discipline.
• Experience in teaching, training, or facilitating workshops, especially in a virtual setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the local context and cultural sensitivities in the region.
• Proficiency in English and the local language(s) of the region.
• Familiarity with STEAM education and virtual learning platforms.
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity & Student-centered teaching approach
• Problem-solving and adaptability
• Time management and organization
