Full timeTo advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will support the Finance & Accounting Services Team in all areas – Payroll, Cash Management, Account reconciliations, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, financial reporting, etc. - within established policies and internal controls.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESPersonal:- Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world.

- Process accurate and timely monthly & semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 1,500 staff located throughout the United States.
- Set up new tax jurisdictions within the system as required.
- Ensure the accurate and timely transmission of periodic, quarterly and annual tax files to ADP.
- Initiate payroll disbursements and reporting.
- Review and approve employee changes entered for direct deposit and tax withholding.
- Keep current on tax jurisdiction changes and requirements as they impact employees and InterVarsity.
- Compile payroll information for Workers Compensation or other needs.
- Process W-2s for calendar year end, from auditing to printing and mailing.
- Reconcile all payroll related discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Respond to Service Cloud cases according to Service Level Agreement requirements.
- Meet all payroll-related deadlines, as well as month-end and year-end accounting department deadlines.
- Be the expert on the payroll implications of Ministerial Housing Allowance
- Keep current on new optional Workday release features related to payroll and evaluate whether they should be adopted.
- Create and maintain sound financial records. Prepare and record financial transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles and InterVarsity policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review bank and other reconciliations.
- Record and post transactions in the financial records.
- Assist Accounts Payable staff, or others, as requested by supervisor(s).
- Cooperate with internal and external auditor requests for information.
- Develop and communicate with a list of potential financial and prayer ministry partners on a regular basis.
- Raise an agreed upon amount of financial support.
- Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith.
- Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
- Experience with payroll system and payroll processes (Workday and ADP preferred).
- Experience with handling payroll with a multi-state non-profit employer (preferred)
- Ability to deal with financial information in a confidential manner.
- Understand or be able to fully learn the payroll and tax complexities of Ministerial Housing Allowance at InterVarsity, to become the organizational expert.
- General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to payroll processes and practices and how to apply these or change policies and practices as needed to resolve payroll issues.
- Ability to organize, handle details, and maintain accurate records and files.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for InterVarsity events, conferences, and as otherwise required
