- Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, maintaining an active and unrestricted pharmacist license.
- Oversee daily prescription processing and dispensing activities following standard operating procedures.
- Manage pharmacy personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain efficient pharmacy workflows, identifying areas for process improvement.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, overseeing the purchase and supply of medications.
- Address patient order concerns proactively and provide necessary follow-ups.
- Communicate effectively with staff through verbal and written updates.
- Monitor and report key operational metrics related to prescription processing.
- Implement and manage new pharmacy programs and initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards such as URAC, ACHC, and NABP.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and ensure adherence to all required standards.
- Conduct quality assurance audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, shipping/receiving clerks, and interns.
- Handle recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Foster a positive work culture and ensure high team performance.
- Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Kansas.
- Minimum of two years of pharmacist experience.
- One year of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in retail or mail-order pharmacy preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of 340B programs is a plus.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in pharmacy.
