Public Health Dental Hygienist - Part-time

Public Health Dental Hygienist - Part-time Job Description Competencies: PHDH will provide preventative oral health services to those who are 0-18 years of age and eligible for IL Medicaid, those who are underinsured and/or those whose household income is not greater than 200% federal poverty level. PHDH will provide services in both school-based mobile setting as well as fixed site clinic location. PHDH must comply with policy guidelines and standing orders for all clinic sites. PHDH will provide the Standard Provision of Care. PHDH and supervising dentist will maintain a Supervision Agreement and comply with communication/consultation protocols. PHDH and supervising dentist will meet quarterly to discuss patient cases. Effective removal of plaque and calculus deposits as well as the ability to create diagnostic radiographs. Qualifications and Education Requirements: High School Diploma, AAS or BS in Dental Hygiene, Registered Dental Hygiene Illinois License, Public Health Dental Hygienist Certification, CPR Certification, Valid driver's license. Must have the PHDH certification within 90 days. Responsibilities Guidelines: • Provide overall oral screening/assessment, oral health education, radiographs, intraoral photos, prophylaxis, placement of dental sealants, application of topical fluoride medicaments including Silver Diamine Fluoride, appropriately manage patient care, referral plans and efficiently documents services rendered. • Assist with other job duties as assigned by supervisor, director or dentist, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, room turnover, sterilization, community events, promoting program, office tasks and assist with patient resources, referrals, transportation, etc. Hours: Business hours 7am-4:30pm, hours each day may flex Responsibilities Assist with other job duties as assigned by supervisor, director or dentist, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, room turnover, sterilization, community events, promoting program, office tasks and assist with patient resources, referrals, transportation, etc., Provide overall oral screening/assessment, oral health education, radiographs, intraoral photos, prophylaxis, placement of dental sealants, application of topical fluoride medicaments including Silver Diamine Fluoride, appropriately manage patient care, referral plans and efficiently documents services rendered.
