Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in mould design for plastic injection, blow, and die cast processes. This role requires end-to-end involvement—from concept development to final production—creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation and both 3D and 2D designs to support engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform drafting and design tasks using SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and other relevant design tools

  • Create enclosures and fabrication layouts for battery application systems

  • Design control boxes, mechanical enclosures, connectors, and harnesses
    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical hardware, hydronic piping, power wiring

  • Prepare technical documentation for vendor communication and quotation processes

  • Ensure that all mechanical designs meet applicable TUV/CE/UL codes and standard

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Mould Design (Aluminum, Plastic Injection, Blow, Die Cast)

  • Busbars design, electrical component assembly, electrical wiring

  • Complete Mould Manufacturing Documentation

  • Preparing product specification for production and assembly

  • 3D CAD Modelling (SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360)

  • 2D Drafting & 3D-to-2D Conversion (STEP/DWG/DXF)

  • Product Design & Concept Development

  • Sheet Metal & Weldment Design

  • Rendering, Exploded Views & Assembly Guides

  • DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & Tolerance Optimization

Competencies

  • Experience in battery model/pack mechanical design & engineering throughout production and distribution phases (BESS, String controller box)

  • Solid understanding of thermal reaction and material selection

  • Expertise in plastic molding and metal fabrication

  • Familiarity with battery distribution systems

  • Electronic Control box design coordination with engineering teamwork

Required Skills and Tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • 8–15 years of relevant experience

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

  • Experience working in cross-functional, collaborative teams

Preferred Experience

  • Background in the energy storage or battery technology sectors

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and Asana is a plus

  • Certifications are a plus
