Associate Director - Healthcare Market Researcher, Oncology Expertise Preferred (Remote)

- Who You Are
- A senior, seasoned market researcher or consultant with 6+ years of experience in the healthcare/life sciences industry.
- Deeply familiar with the life sciences ecosystem including the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and healthcare systems.
- Strong across qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with comfort guiding teams on research design, execution, and storytelling.
- Skilled in building trusted relationships with brand leaders, insights teams, and cross-functional healthcare clients.
- An expert across therapeutic areas. Experience in oncology is strongly preferred.
- A strong communicator and strategic thinker who’s energized by solving complex problems with collaborative teams.
Base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000. If this is not the right range for you, please check out our other openings. This position is 100% remote (you must be based in the United States).
Role Summary
We are seeking a leader to join our high-performing Health Leadership Team – someone who will help us to drive our goals forward, elevate our team members, deliver exceptional value to clients, and contribute their unique perspective and healthcare expertise.
What You’ll Do
- Client Work (80% of time)
- Run market research and related customer experience projects end to end
- Lead client discussions to define objectives by actively listening and asking the right questions.
- Conduct in-depth research (and coach others to conduct research) with HCPs and patients/caregivers by using diverse techniques to uncover answers to client problems; you should have familiarity with a range of qualitative methodologies as well as with survey writing.
- Write and/or review persuasive reports and deliverables; display versatility in writing styles and formats (e.g., from quick team emails to C-suite communications), effectively adapting your writing to diverse audiences.
- Deliver recommendations to senior clients on how to apply customer-inspired-growth.
- (Not required, but desirable) Moderate live (video) interviews with healthcare providers when needed, crafting incisive discussion guide that respect physicians’ time and interests while focusing on our clients’ business objectives.
- Be a trusted consultant to your clients
- Bring your expertise. You will bring not only methodological expertise, but also subject matter expertise in various therapeutic areas and healthcare settings.
- Immerse yourself. Understand your client’s business, the therapeutic area, and your HCP/patient/caregiver respondents to ensure findings are both insightful and actionable.
- Be a strategic partner. Offer proactive thinking, application of insights, and clear guidance in the shifting healthcare landscape.
- Build strong relationships. In partnership with your teams, create trusted relationships with senior level clients that drive great work and account growth.
- Uncover the opportunity. Create space to listen, plan, and workshop with your clients at the start of the engagement and check-in throughout.
- Bring the brief. Leveraging our thought leadership and integrated services, grow the business by regularly uncovering opportunities to deliver value across your clients’ organizations.
- Train Others (10% of time)
- Upskill the wider health team in gaining comfort with different methodologies as well as subject matter expertise in life sciences.
- Develop talent. Develop 3-4 of our existing team members into expert life science researchers by teaching them how to properly immerse and understand client needs within more clinically-oriented therapeutic areas and methodologically complex projects.
- Business Development (10%)
- Elevate outreach. Review proposals and new business materials to ensure clinical and methodological rigor and expertise.
- Have a POV. Join pitch teams to provide strategic and clinical expertise, both behind the scenes and in client-facing conversations.
- Be a team player. Partner with colleagues across Escalent to identify and shape new opportunities.

- Base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 (determined by level of experience)
