Senior Industry Consultant – Core Product Strategy & Selection

Employment Type: Contract – 2-3 Months

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Industry Consultant with deep domain expertise in core platforms—specifically around treasury and capital markets systems such as Finastra Opics. This individual will lead strategic engagements with enterprise financial clients to help them assess, evaluate, and transition from legacy platforms like Opics to modern, future-ready alternatives.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end product assessment and selection engagements for core product with deep expertise in treasury systems.
  • Work directly with enterprise clients to understand business challenges, operational pain points, and future objectives.
  • Map existing capabilities of platforms like Finastra Opics and define gaps against business and technical needs in the alternative product.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks (RFPs, scorecards, vendor benchmarking) to assess new product options such as ERI Olympic, Profile Axia, Murex, Calypso, Temenos, Flexcube, etc.
  • Conduct market scans to shortlist and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Support business case creation, including cost-benefit analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO), and implementation complexity.
  • Engage with product vendors for detailed clarifications, roadmap discussions, and contract negotiation support.
  • Suggest our company on migration strategies, phasing approaches, and governance models for transition.
  • Collaborate with client IT and business teams to shape the future architecture and roadmap.
  • Knowledge in Jamaica and other Caribean markets preferable
    Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • 20+ years of experience in core banking, treasury, or capital markets technology consulting.
  • Strong functional knowledge of F trade lifecycle, treasury operations, settlements, and accounting.
  • Experience leading vendor evaluations or platform replacements in large-scale financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with other platforms such as ERI Olypic, Profile Axia, Calypso, Murex, Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube, and cloud-native fintech platforms.
  • Proven ability to engage with C-level executives, IT leaders, and business heads to influence decisions.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to capital markets and banking.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
