Secretary/Legal Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Secretary/Legal Assistant to join our legal team. This role is responsible for providing administrative and legal support to attorneys and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations of the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in legal documentation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
  • Prepare and format legal documents including pleadings, contracts, discovery, and court forms.
  • File and organize legal documents in physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist in case preparation.
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and tracking billable hours.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and manage logistics for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Monitor deadlines and maintain case management systems.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of the legal profession.
    Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or certification in paralegal studies preferred.
  • Minimum of [1–3] years of experience in a legal or administrative support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in [civil litigation / family law / criminal defense / corporate law — customize as needed].

  • Notary public certification is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.61 - $26.03 per hour
