Bilingual Dental Receptionist / Scheduler (Spanish/English)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Bilingual Dental Receptionist / Scheduler fluent in Spanish and English, with 3+ years of experience in a dental office setting. This role requires strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes, as well as excellent customer service skills to ensure patients feel welcomed, informed, and well cared for.
As the first point of contact, you will handle patient communication, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and support daily front-desk operations. Your ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients is essential to delivering high-quality care and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
- RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments, both in English and Spanish
- Schedule and confirm appointments, follow-ups, and hygiene recalls
- Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries regarding procedures, billing, and insurance
- Verify insurance coverage (PPO, HMO, Medicaid, etc.) and obtain necessary authorizations
- Explain treatment plans, co-pays, and financial responsibilities to patients in a clear and empathetic manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
- Coordinate with dental assistants and dentists to ensure efficient patient flow
- Handle payments, billing, and end-of-day reconciliation
- Maintain front desk organization and cleanliness
- Support patient reactivation and reminder outreach campaigns
- Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish and English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years of experience working in a dental office or similar healthcare front-desk role
- Solid understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and insurance plans
- Proficient in dental software such as Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a calm and friendly demeanor
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in dental office administration is a plus
