About the Role
- As a Travel DHH Teacher in New Orleans, LA, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K–12 settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and families
- Facilitate communication access and promote inclusion
- Monitor progress and ensure compliance with state and district requirements
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Active or pending Louisiana DHH teaching certification
- Strong understanding of language acquisition for DHH students
- Proficiency in ASL and experience with hearing technologies (e.g., FM systems, cochlear implants)
- School-based experience preferred
- Open to candidates from Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and nearby states
