Role Description
- The Program Manager will provide support to RAFI’s Gaining New Ground project and NRCS-funded project that is housed within RAFI’s Resources for Resilient Farms program. This individual will be instrumental to ensuring appropriate communication to project partners and subawardees, collection and analysis of financial and programmatic data, and overseeing the projects activities/ deliverables.
- NRCS Project Management (60%)
- Work with Agricultural Conservation Manager to maintain and oversee case management tracking in Salesforce used by internal RAFI team and project partners to track farmer Technical Assistance cases on a monthly basis. Ensure data is entered consistently and accurately.
- Provide technical support to project partners when necessary to ensure adequate collection and reporting of farmer case data.
- Issue Project Partner report templates, send reminders, and collect reports on a quarterly basis.
- Communicate with Partners, Federal Grants Manager, and Ag Conservation Manager regarding any past-due reports and the timeline for submission.
- Work with Federal Grants Manager to accept accurate reports and invoices or retrieve corrected reports/invoices so that invoices can be processed and paid out to Partners at the agreed upon frequency (quarterly or bi-monthly depending on the partner).
- Archive reports and invoices in the appropriate Google Drive files.
- Review project partner quarterly reports; ensure project partners are on track with meeting designated project deliverables.
- Gaining New Ground Project Management (40%)
- Serves as the main point of contact and primary manager of all subawards supported through federal funding.
- Ensures that subaward recipients have active and federally compliant contracts, overseeing subaward budgets, processing invoicing requests, and reviewing subaward reports to ensure they meet federal reporting requirements, in coordination with Federal Grants and Operations Manager and Awards Manager.
- Ensures that invoices or reimbursement requests for all project work within the program are submitted on a timely basis and coordinates with administrative staff to ensure accurate recording of information in financial records.
- Prepare quarterly board reports.
- Manage data from project activities in Salesforce, including subaward information and data sharing. Contribute to Salesforce customization plans as needed.

- Experience with data entry, data reporting, and working with a CRM - proficiency in Salesforce preferred.
- Demonstrated successful project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in agriculture and working with farmers.
- Willingness to learn and work with remote staff.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
- Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
- Comfort with ambiguity and flexibility.
- Compensation
- Salaried, full-time, exempt, 0.75 FTE (approx 30 hours a week schedule).
- This position is grant funded through March 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension based on funding.
- Annual salary is $44,337.
- Location
- This is a remote position with the option to work at our office in the Triangle area of NC as desired.
