Job Title: Revenue Integrity Educator II (Contract)

Location: 100% REMOTE (Central Time Zone hours preferred)

Job Type: Interim Consulting Assignment (Full-Time, 40 hours/week)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Integrity Educator II to join a high-impact healthcare organization on a remote contract basis. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance and quality in provider documentation and coding accuracy across multiple surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will have strong auditing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Conduct provider documentation audits across surgical specialties such as plastic surgery, orthopedics, NICU, OB, urology, and spine care

Deliver feedback and documentation improvement recommendations to providers

Lead billing compliance education for newly onboarded providers

Evaluate medical records for accurate application of ICD-10, CPT, and CDT codes

Identify documentation gaps and ensure coding reflects all services provided

Serve as a key resource for provider audit standards and compliance training

Independently manage workload and scheduling for audits and education sessions

Stay current on coding guidelines and healthcare regulations

Required Qualifications:

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential

Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical coding and auditing

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and documentation standards

Experience auditing E/M services and engaging directly with physicians

Ability to analyze medical records and identify missing or misapplied codes

Comfortable facilitating compliance education and audit discussions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technologically proficient and able to quickly learn new systems

Prior experience in an academic or teaching hospital setting strongly preferred

Preferred Systems Experience:

Epic

MD Audit (preferred, but not required)
