Intake Specialist - Make a Difference in Patient Care!

What You'll Do:
The Intake Specialist is responsible for receiving referrals from sources and ensuring they are processed through the intake process in a timely manner. The Intake specialist is also responsible for obtaining the patient's benefits, prior authorizations and/or predeterminations, as well as communicating with the patient and their families as well as the referral source to determine their needs, medical history, physical and mental state, and special requirements.

- Your key responsibilities include:
- Processes orders from referral sources.
- Assesses patient needs upon arrival.
- Responds to all phone and fax inquiries.
- Verifies patient's benefits and eligibility for requested services.
- Obtains all necessary information required to process a prior authorization if applicable.
- Completes all patients start of care paperwork.
- Relays insurance coverage to referral source/patient and discuss financial responsibilities and any need for financial assistance.
- Enter all new patients into the database.
- Receives and uploads all documents received into patient's file.
- Monitors referrals and assess any of their needs.
- Assists clients and staff with referral questions when needed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with business needs.
- What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in infusion therapy or related healthcare services with experience working with healthcare insurance and customer service.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This role operates in an office setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
